Japanese cake

Wow. I wouldn't have thought to do this! xD Maybe the sun would have looked more like the oriental sun if you had straitened the lines with a ruler or something flat so it would not have looked like a spider. Despite that. I really like what you did here. Makes me want to try it since I've been learning to bake cakes lately. ^^ 

Did you apply the icing with a knife? Maybe you could try putting icing in a plastic ziplock bag and cut a very small piece of a bottom corner. This makes a piping bag. That's how I write something on the cake cleanly. Although it takes practice. >.<
